I've still got it.

"Somewhere" is an expirement of mine. Painted for a charity raffle to support a field trip to New York for the high school I graduated from. I've seen far too many pictures edited to have sections of color and sections of grayscale, but I can't say I've ever seen an actual painting done that way. So, I went with that idea. I chose to depict a somewhat surrealistic scene, where the distance of the horizon is clearly visible. Sharp grayscale foreground, being the cliff and the trees peering over the side. Color background, being the valley below and the bright sunrise. I put about 20 hours worth of work into this. For the first time I attempted to use thick layers, just to test the effectiveness. Thank you to the Yeah Yeah Yeah's for providing me with something relatively interesting to listen to while painting.
